"Kartini" represents the emancipation of women who have the same rights as men to study and pursue their career which can be seen on the left side of the painting. Back then, Kartini lived in shackles and was unable to achieve her dream to study in the Netherlands. She expressed her thoughts through writings which were published in women's magazines and that was how she communicated with her friends in the Netherlands. This painting depicted the blue light women walking towards their path to success as Kartini smiling proudly on the right side as if her endeavour comes fruitful.
