"Imaji Series"

This artwork is one part of the IMAJI series created by Wahyu Nugroho in 2020. This IMAJI artwork was made to represent a further exploration of the artist’s intuitive approach in making artworks. In his statement, the artist noted that "after the creation process was almost complete, I responded, as a finishing touch, based on the image of the shape I had captured and from the intuitive process I had done".

In IMAJI series, each of the artwork represents one main object, these main objects are abstract figures that are not bound in a realistic form but can still be recognized as creatures because each character is depicted with an eye as a marker. Those artworks are made similar to each other in which the artist creates intuitive shapes, and creates a character that is unconsciously constructed.
